Keep three observations separate
Record the task completed, the value shown by the interface and the requirement shown for the next upgrade. A mismatched bar, an incomplete mission counter and an unmet purchase prerequisite need different checks.
When a counter appears stuck
For inconsistent XP bars, compare #9. For the station trash-cleanup mission count, compare #21. Neither patch supports estimating a universal XP-per-case payout or a full list of station levels.
Plan from your save's requirement
Write the actual requirement and available funds in your station plan. Mark a milestone only after the game confirms it. Achievement objectives are specific goals, not a substitute for a complete progression formula.
