Record which detective is assigned and whether the case is actually present on the shelf. #4 confirms a specific ignored-shelf correction, not an automatic rule that every idle detective must take every available file.
A worker cannot use a device
#18 added facing indicators for paper shelves, fax machines and shredders. Review the indicated access direction and nearby obstructions before treating a layout problem as a puzzle failure.
The player cannot pick up a file
Rare file-cabinet pickup failures were separately corrected in #18. Preserve the file and record the cabinet and interaction prompt. A floating workstation file belongs to the #14 issue history, not necessarily the same trigger.
