Confirm the prepared case
Keep the case label and active objective visible in your notes. A box containing documents does not itself prove the case is ready or complete. Check whether the objective is transport to the Briefing Room, pickup or placement.
Review the dispatch record
Use the Briefing Board to inspect the selected case and the resources the game shows. The local Case Workflow Board can remember this plan, but cannot assign officers or trigger a mission.
Check the return, not just departure
A returned car missing from the board was addressed in #10; #17 added recovery for future blocked vehicles. An empty ghost assignment in an older save is a separate #20 monitoring case, not proof that the case needs to be solved again.
Patch evidence
Updated . Historical demonstrations retain their original dates; a patch label is not a numeric build ID.

Does putting a case on the Briefing Board automatically close it?
The cited notes do not establish that. Treat board placement, dispatch and the game's completion confirmation as separate observations.
